Cockroach Control Middlesex
You might find it uncomfortable just reading about cockroaches. It’s probably a disquieting thought to think they might overrun your home. Even one can be horrible to see, especially when you see one, it usually means there are others you just haven’t seen yet. This is especially true if you’re seeing them during the daylight hours.
Daytime sightings usually means cockroaches are so high in numbers that they are desperate and competing for food enough to brave daytime hours. Getting control of roaches early is the best prevention for infestations. Cockroaches typically enter a property when they have access to food. Your environment may be clean but not completely free of crumbs, water and the warmth they seek.
Once cockroaches find a place to nest, they bring and breed others. They can enter you home through cracks in windows, gaps underneath doors, through drain pipes and even hitch a ride into your property if you’ve been some place with an infestation or you’ve invited, into your property, a person with an infestation.
It’s no laughing matter when roaches breed. They do so rapidly. A female cockroach can produce 150 cockroaches in it’s life, which may not sound threatening but the hatching period is short, only lasting 20-30 days for up to 50 roaches born in each cycle. That’s a lot of cockroaches to eradicate.
Finding cockroaches isn’t so easy. Though you may see them, it doesn’t mean their nest is located in that area. They are also nocturnal, which means you may never see them unless you stay up late with low lighting, as they also do most of their scavenging in the dark.
Over the–counter and homemade remedies are at best temporary and at worst don’t work at all. Professional cockroach control is advisable because their breeding speed can far outpace your unprofessional attempts at controlling and eliminating them.
Cockroach Infestation
Middlesex Country Pest Control has seen cockroach infestations unsettle even the most brave among people. Turning lights on in a dark room and seeing a family of cockroaches scurry for hiding places probably isn’t going to be a cheerful occasion for anyone. For some people even seeing one cockroach on their property is enough evidence for them to reach out for help combating them.
But if you still need further proof of an infestation, there are several signs you will see. Cockroach feces may be visible. If they look like brown specks, you have a serious infestation and if the specs are large enough to mimic coffee grounds, you have an even more serious cockroach infestation.
And it’s advisable that you call a professional service. Cockroaches smell. You will smell a strong musty order when you have a roach infestation. This smell is significant because it means roaches are in large numbers. The smell helps roaches indicate to one another that a suitable place has been found to create a nest. The bigger they are, the more cockroaches smell.
Cockroaches are prolific breeders. You will see eggshell cases around, but sometimes you may not see these casings because they may be located in hard to see and reach places.

Unfortunately, there are no over-the-counter products that can extend into these kinds of places. If you see dead roaches, especially if you haven’t already treated for them, this also will indicate an infestation.
If roaches are running about in the daytime foraging for food sources, it indicates there is a fierce competition for food and many roaches have been forced out and in desperation are seeking food elsewhere. They are willing to brave daylight to live.
